UNDER THE MOON WITH MESSINA
It did not take long for Hong Kong to fall for Messina. Queues around the block, collaborations with chefs, bartenders, and artists, a growing community of gelato lovers who keep coming back for more. Now, Messina is heading to Wan Chai.
On 4 September, the Australian gelateria opens its third Hong Kong shop on Moon Street – tucked into the Starstreet Precinct, a quiet corner of Wan Chai that feels like a neighbourhood of its own.
In tribute to its new neighbour and sister restaurant, Artemis Apollo, and our new Moon Street location, the gelato team has created three Wan Chai exclusives for its debut.
Scoop Me To The Moon – Celestial swirl of butterfly pea, pink guava, and black sesame gelatos. Romantic with a dash of daring.
My Neighbour Yia Yia – Honey yoghurt gelato with roasted almond fudge and caramelised almonds. A warm, nostalgic embrace.
Scents of Santorini – Lemon-scented olive oil gelato. A bright ode to the Mediterranean sun.
Moon Street has long felt like a village of its own within the city – quiet, charming and a little removed from the Wan Chai bustle. With its newest shop, Messina becomes part of that story: a place to gather, to share, and to enjoy something sweet. To invite our neighbours into Moon Street Messina, we have created two ways to experience it – a first taste, and a moment to share.
A $35 Single Scoop – available from opening to 20 September, across all flavours, exclusive to Wan Chai.
And throughout September, diners of Black Sheep restaurants# in Wan Chai will receive a special certificate, entitling them to buy one scoop and enjoy a second on the house – a scoop to keep, and a scoop to give.
For Messina, this marks another milestone in a Hong Kong story that keeps getting sweeter: three shops, three neighbourhoods, and plenty more scoops to come.
